Silky Summer Legs | Beautycounter Launches Shave

It’s almost time for Summer, ladies! Maxi skirts at the park, and many trips to the beach are in the near future! After what feels like the longest winter in history, I am looking forward to warm weather and sunshine. Which leads me to the realization of needing getting my legs ready for Summah ASAP!

I am so excited to announce Beautycounter is launching our new Shave Shaving Cream this Friday, May 16th. Shave is a creamy, moisturizing shaving cream, formulated to ensure a clean, close shave and is perfect for both men and women. Witch hazel minimizes irritation while coconut oil and shea butter hydrate and moisturize to leave skin smooth and soft.  I can already smell the coconut yummyness in my head and I can’t wait to get my hands on this exciting new product!

Paired with our exfoliating Glow Sugar Scrub, to buff away dull skin cells while mineral-rich evening primrose, sweet almond, apricot kernel, and sunflower oils leave skin looking supple and smooth. Body bonus: açai berry extract delivers antioxidants, fatty acids, and natural enzymes to support healthy-looking skin. A refreshing lemongrass scent (derived from a mix of pure essential citrus oils) wakes up the senses. These dynamic duos will guarantee you to have gorgeous gams all season long!

Beauty Tuesday | Master Glaze™ Blush Stick Review

I may have an addiction to creme blush. I just love that soft glow and effortlessly polished look it offers – think Rachel Bilson or Jessica Alba. Besides the fact that I have extremely pale skin with dark hair, it’s always been one of my absolute “must have” products. Even when I run out the door with a “no makeup” look, chances are I have on my fab four: concealer, creme blush, mascara and gloss.

So naturally when I saw a cute little new stick version of my creme blush obsession by Maybelline I could not walk by! I picked up the Maybelline Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick in “pinched pink” because yeah, I totally want to glisten :)

My favorite feature about the product is there is no sparkles or glitter – just a hint of pearly shimmer – because I do not need an adult version of my Tinkerbell makeup. It is just not a good look for me anymore. The stick makes application a cinch, I just dab a little on the back of my hand and warm it up with my finger to apply. It goes on like buddah ladies! Super smooth and sheer, very build-able color if you want more.

Face Studio Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick makes cheeks go dewy and gently glazed with sheer blush color. Liquid shimmer pearls + shea butter glide provide blendable blush color and smooth, even application.

Buy It: You can find Face Studio Master Glaze at major retailers like Target or drugstores for $8

So Long, Farewell 2013, Hello 2014!

I know it’s been a while since my last post. I swear it’s not you, it’s me. Finding the time and energy to blog since baby girl #3 has been more than a challenge for me. So, I am saying farewell for a little while. Thank you all for following me, reading, commenting, supporting and sharing my blog posts – I love being able to communicate with you!  I will definitely be back, most likely when I’m busting at the seams to share a new beauty find with you! But for now I am focusing on family.

In fact, 2014 is all about making more time – time for my fitness goals, time for organizing my closet, time for playing with my kids and going on dates with my husband, time for reading books and time for learning how to cook more! I am excited about this year and I love watching my girls blossom. I want to be stronger physically and mentally so I can be the best role model for them. I want to go back to basics as much as I can – with less crap in my food, and less technology in my face. I want to enjoy the moments more with my kids and husband.

And so without further adieu, here it is in writing – my 2014 goals:

1) “Unplug” on Sundays for more family time

2) Re-commit my fitness goals of working out 5 days per week, incorporate 1 day of yoga or stretching per week, be more active with my family for hikes, walks, biking trips

3) Learn how to cook more dishes and healthier versions of favorites (like chicken parm!)

4) Read more. 1 book per month…and NO magazines like US Weekly or Allure do not count :)

5) Play more with my kids. nuff said :)

6) Plan at least 2 date nights per month with my husband

7) Budget better. Try to use the cash system more instead of debit card. Let’s face it, debit cards are scary with all the recent fraud and security breaches!

I’m not saying I’m quitting social media entirely. But the likelihood of me sitting down for hours at a time to crank out a few blog posts again is very slim. And while I truly do love sharing ideas and awesome finds with all of you, it takes so much time away from my family. Since it’s not paying the bills, I just can’t justify that much of a time suck.  I  will still be on instagram and facebook, so I would love if you followed me there to see what I’m up to or my latest beauty or fashion find. It’s much quicker to snap a photo and share in an instant!

What are your goals this year?

Vicks Filter Free Cool Mist Humidifier Review

We have been so lucky this year (Knock on wood) because we haven’t had any major sickness or flu in the house. I think it has something to do with coming home from the hospital with baby #3 to the stomach bug! This year I am ready to tackle whatever comes our way with the Vicks Filter Free Cool Mist Humidifier. I was ecstatic to review the sample since we have three girls, ages five years and under. There’s not much I can do with medicine for them when they have blocked sinuses and noses from colds. It’s nearly impossible for them to get a good night of sleep when they’re sick but I know the humidifier will help a ton!

The Vicks Filter Free Cool Mist provides soothing, visible mist for temporary relief of cough and congestion for better breathing and a more comfortable sleep. Designed for low maintenance operation, this unit requires no filters and is ultra quiet. It has soothing vapors and an integrated dual scent pad heater that allows you to increase soothing scent intensity by use of 2 scent pads.

It was a cinch to set up in the baby’s room when we tried it out. I love that I can see when the water level is low, but it goes for 30 hours before it runs out. That is awesome compared to the little one I’ve used before!

Buy It: You can buy the humidifier along with all your cold and flu needs at the Cold and Flu Shop

Bumbo Floor Seat Review

One of my all time favorite baby items with my first daughter was the Bumbo seat. I remember being so excited to put her in it as soon as she could keep her head up on her own. It was like a whole new perspective for her to sit up and play! I was thrilled when asked to review the latest Bumbo floor seat with my third daughter.

Bumbo seat
If you’re not familiar with them, the Bumbo has a contoured seat which allows parents to play with, read to, and feed their baby comfortably on the floor. Since it is made of low-density foam, which is comfortable for babies, it’s also super easy to clean up for parents!. I love how portable and lightweight it is, along with the three-point harness for safety it was a go-to essential for me with all my girls.

This one came with the latest must-have accessory, the snack tray which is awesome for snacking and small teething toys! She loved sitting in it and playing with her sisters on the floor – and my older girls adored having their “baby” right next to them for playtime. It is the perfect portable and lightweight highchair or play seat all in one!

We had a ton of fun with it on Halloween when we dressed our little one as a Cabbage Patch Kid!

Bumbo gives back, so you can feel good about purchasing a Bumbo product since every purchase helps children in need with the Bumbo Cares program, an organization that donates products to daycares, feeds and shelters orphans, provides daycare for children with special needs and more. They have helped more than 1,200 children, and have touched the lives of more than 15,000 students in local schools, and assisted tens of thousands of people in the broader community.

Buy it: You can purchase the Bumbo Floor Seat with Tray on Amazon for $49.99

Black Friday From Home | Stella & Dot Sale

I am obsessing over Stella & Dot’s amazing Black Friday sale going on now through December 1st! As if their sale prices aren’t fabulous enough, they are currently offering an additional 25% off the sale price on items ranging from $9 – $120 (before the extra 25%), plus a flat shipping rate of $5.95!

Since I am not into the Black Friday store craze anyways, I would much rather make a few online purchases and enjoy the day off with my family. Stella & Dot has me covered – I am checking off babysitters, teachers, grandmothers and more with their online sale!

Here’s a few of  my favorite gift picks below:

Kowalli® KozyHats and SnuggleBoots Review

It’s quickly getting cold outside here in New England, and that means it’s time for holiday flavored lattes and snuggling in for a movie night with a big bowl of popcorn! Sounds like a perfect ending after a long day of activities with my girls.

Am I the only one constantly debating with my children to keep their coats and hats on in this frigid weather? Thankfully there is no back talk yet from the baby :) It is super easy to keep her toasty warm in the most adorable Kowalli® KozyHat and SnuggleBoots made out of Polartec® fleece! I was thrilled when Kowalli® sent me pink and gray KozyHat and SnuggleBoots samples to try out.

While pregnant with my third baby I stumbled across the Kowalli® babywearing carriers online. Maybe it was the sheer terror realization of “how am I going to logistically juggle three kids?”, that lead me to this local Rhode Island company making fantastic universal baby carrier covers made out of Polartec fleece. Let me tell you the concept of a carrier cover to keep my little one warm instantly put me at ease!

I knew the carrier cover would allow me to leave the house in the beginning transition phase with a newborn. It’s perfect for the preschool drop offs, or trip to the park with no worries about the baby being cold. I ordered the Kowalli Baby Carrier Cover before my due date last February, and have loved using it since she was a newborn. The cover has made it so easy for me to bring her everywhere and still have two hands free to handle my other two!

We love our KozyHat and SnuggleBoots for neighborhood walks!

My youngest is already nine months now, so she isn’t as nestled down in the carrier and covered up – a hat and boots are essentials! We absolutely love the KozyHat and SnuggleBoots! The hat is thoughtfully designed with a cutout in the back for jacket or baby carrier support space, and I just love the ear flaps that cover her ears. The boots are longer than most boots so I can pull them to cover the baby’s calves when she’s wearing tights, or fold them over with pants.

The best part is they are machine washable! They are so cute, stylish and functional, I highly recommend these warm accessories even if you’re not using  a babywearing carrier!

We love our SnuggleBoots!
